
Alana Chiang
The 13 years old pianist Alana resides in Princeton, New Jersey, USA, and attends the Mannes Pre-College Honors Program in New York City.
Alana has performed at Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall in New York City, and has been a guest soloist at Musica del Cuore in season 2018. Currently, she is studying with Steven Beck and Lora Tchekoratova, former students of Seymour Lipkin at the Julliard School of Music. Alana has previously studied under Robert Taub, a pianist and musicologist known for his performances of Beethoven and contemporary music, and Helen Cha, the Director of the concert series Musica del Cuore.
Alana participated in the Philadelphia International Music Festival and the Hotchkiss Summer Piano program where she took classes from John Perry, Oxana Yablanskaya, Leonald Morales, and Yuri Bogdanov. Recently, Alana won first place in the Rondo Young Artist Festival and placed second in the International Grande Music Competition and the Piano Teachers’ Congress of New York.
In addition to piano, Alana enjoys conducting opera; in 2018, Alana conducted with her class at Mannes a live production of Act 2 of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata.
